My aunt lived there for five years (specifically in Wisconsin Dells) and hated it, she moved back to NY recently and is much happier. (My aunt loves Long Island).
My cousin on the other hand stayed in Wisconsin and is currently living in Madison, and likes it.

My DH is from the Milwaukee area. His cousin lives halfway between Madison in Milwaukee, in a rural area that's undergoing a good amount of development. There are some gorgeous homes being built there. His cousin's house is about 2200 sf, 2.5 baths, 1.5 acres. It's gorgeous- formal living room, dining room, master suite. They got it for about $320k, I believe. Real estate is SO much cheaper there.
Wisconsin Dells reminded me of Lake George. I don't think I would like living there either. It did strike me as a big outdoors-ish place, which can be good if you like that.
Milwaukee is a nice small city. I know DH loved growing up there and has thought about moving back. I found it very nice too- not so congested but not stick-ish either. I would have really thought about moving there if not for my family, and DH's folks have since moved to PA anyway.
ETA: If you have any more specific things, you can FM me and I can ask DH. Chicago's also not too far, if you craved some time in a bigger city, for day trips, etc.

I knew someone who lived in Sheboygan and worked for Kohler. They really loved it there. Thats about all I know!

My husband 's company is opening another building there in Beloit WI so if that's the case and we have the opportunity to move there we probably will. And my hubby will make the same salary or more!!! That's the most important thing

My husband went for training in Madison WI. It is a nice town but it is a college town. It was pretty but i don't think i could live there. It is way too cold for me in the winter and in the summer you can't go out without bug spray on b/c the mosquitos eat you alive.

My friend moved to WI about 6 years ago to live with her then boyfriend/now husband. She loves it. She likes the people and the atmosphere. She was in New Berlin and moved to Milwaukee. They bought a really nice house this past summer and she is content. She has never even tried to get her husband to move to NY.

I am going 'back' there this summer (july), my cousins and A/U live there. I have always liked it as a child, but now as an adult I'll look at it differently. They lived on a farm w/ the red bard, horses, cows, pigs, etcc...the real deal!
