Info on Greenies?

Hi all,
I see these at Petco all the time and since Golem really seems to enjoy crunchy edible treats, I was thinking of getting these for him. We actually have one now that someone gave him for Christmas, but the wrapper said for dogs 50lbs and up...... Golem is now 4 1/2 months old and weighs about 45 pounds, but he chews like a 100 pound dog already! Is it safe to give him this Greenie? It's small, about 5 or 6 inches long and shaped like a toothbrush. He has another chewy treat - a beef puff that he LOVES, but it's so disgusting and makes him so extremely gassy that it almost has me worried, so we took that away. He's very well behaved wehn he has a good chew treat, so I'd really like to try that Greenie, I'm just not sure about that weight reccomendation on the wrapper. Any info would be appreciated - thanks so much!

We give them to Max (see my avatar!!! ) because he CANNOT have rawhide at all (major stomach issues) ... all of our dogs like them.

thanks girls! How do they hold up, if you don't mind me asking? Do your pups chew right through it all at once, or is it something that they have to work at to eat? One of the reasons why the beef puff worked so well was because Golem couldnt just bite off huge chunks of it,and needed to gnaw at it for a while before he could eat it. But that thing makes him smell sooooo bad that I refuse to give it back to him - that can't be heallthy! I know Greenies are all natural too, so I think I'm going to do a test run with the one we have tonight and see how he does with it
