informal poll about vendors you discovered here

i was just looking at the layout of chrissynricky's shutterfly album (beautiful, by the way!!!!), and it got me to thinking.

word of mouth is something very powerful! i was wondering which vendors did you discover because of liw?

for me it's been:
mysisterusa.com (chinese slippers)
la rosa cubana (cuban cigars)
hammond candies (candy buffet)
snapfish/shutterfly (digital pictures)

i'm also thinking of using the vendor kara used for her thank you cards... don't know the name off-hand.

who/what company did you discover ONLY BECAUSE YOU SAW IT HERE??

definitely sewdeb - she did my veil and is located in one of the carolinas. never would have known about her without liw.

also ac moore - if you can possibly believe it. i never knew what ac moore was before liw. now i'm addicted to the store.

eta - thomas knoell. never knew about him before liw.

almost ALL of them!

pretty much all of mine except limo (which was horrible, but we were on a budget). Every single vendor on check out on brides review and if I read more than 1 bad thing about them they were crossed off the list. I also checked them all out of BBB.

Red Carpet limo which were great!!

EBAY Vendor for wine labels

Silver Fox and Starlight Express...although I knew of them..this site helped me to get review of them and finally decide to use them

i'm actually much happier with vendors i found on my own. there are some i used that i got from LIW, and wish i hadn't.

i actually had a vendor BEFORE i came to LIW and wound up cancellling the vendor after coming on here and finding out more info on them.

these are the vendors I've found on LIW:
Photography: Marianela Vera (from ChrissynRicky)
Flower's: Burton's
Limos: Sir Oliver
Gown Alterations & BM dresses: Phyllis at Bridal Elegance
Hair: The Rock sisters
MU: Jacqueline Nicole

Not a one....we booked our RH and then went off their preferred vendor list or word of mouth from my mother's coworkers (a lot of whom got married or engaged right around the time we did)...but then again I was a lurker more than a poster and if I was more involved maybe I would have been more swayed by the influences/ opinions here?
