ING savings accounts

Hi
I dont know where else to put this post

But do any of you have an ING savings account? My FH is pushing for us to put a chunk of our money in this. I think it is up to 3% interest! What are your experiences, loopholes, etc.

I have one. It's fine, no loopholes, I haven't had any trouble with it.

we have on and love it...we opened it pretty much as soon as we got engaged and right now it is our 'wedding fund' and a soon as the wedding happens it will become the'house fund'....its really easy for us especially because my paycheck is direct deposited so we have it automoatically taken from our checking account and put in ING...we started when it was 2 % and now it is up to 3.10%

Don't have one personally but have the same type at another company. Just be aware that ING is having some problems lately - been in the news a lot the last few weeks.

Re: ING savings accounts

I was just commenting on articles that I've read in the Wall Street Journal over the past few weeks. It doesn't mean that the problems will trickle down to the consumers, but if other companies with better business plans and no issues offer the same interest, why risk it?? I have one at another company and love it.

The reason the interest is higher than banks is b/c they are money market accounts which are essentially mutual funds where the NAV (net asset value or price per share) is always $1 so there is no fluctuation in principal.

Im confused. Can someone explain to me how this ING account benefits.

We have a savings account but w/ our own bank? Should I switch to ING? Do they put in a certain percentage of what is in there?? What is the 3% you guys are talking about?

Let me know b/c I will go tomorrow to open one up!

better business plan? I don't know.....I don't feel like I'm risking anything...I have never had any problems and if ING is giving higher interest (and they are) then I'm all for it!!!!!

Re: ING savings accounts

ING is great! My interest seems to go up every month at least. I get 3.0% whereas if I go elsewhere I sometimes won't get that much unless I get a fixed CD. Its even better than the money market at the credit union I belong to.

While I am talking about ING if anyone wants a referral to ING, please FM me :) If you sign up with a referral you get $25 put into your account.
