Inivitation typo... damnit...

Inivitation typo... damnit...

We sent out our invites 3 days ago... tonight at the bar our friend pointed out that there is a typo on our reception card... it says 'the pleasure or your company' instead of 'the pleasure of your company' BOOOOOOOO!!

It's totally my fault... I sent the wording to the invite lady in January and approved several proofs with that wording (without noticing) between then and now... but I feel like she should have pointed it out!! Obviously that's a mistake!

In the long run.. not a big deal.. but boooo!!

Should I email her and say i'm disappointed, or let it go?

honestly, I read what you type 3 times and I can't find the difference in what you typed. No on will notice.
I agree that the printing company should have said something. They do this everyday, they should be a pro in finding errors. There's no point in calling them, invites are out and you did approve the proof.

Dont sweat it-no one will really notice it. it took me a minute to figure out what the typo was.

And really yes the printer should have said something to you-but they do so many invitations-that is why they have you sign off and ok it first.

O. M. G. I'm so ready for the NKOTB tour. Did you see the VH1 episode of 'Bands Reunited' with them? Joey totally screwed it up... but that's when he had 'Boston Public'

I think I'll probably end up emailing her and just pointing it out but not expecting anything in return... It's just a bummer, but definitely not a big deal. I asked one of my BM's and she ssaid she didn't notice. And at least it's on the reception card and not the invitation itself.

i personally would say something to your invite lady and see if you can get $$$ back. i am anal about that stuff so it's just my opinion. its not a big deal, not all of your guests will notice

It stinks, but there is nothing you can do about it at this point. You can say something, and they definitely should have caught it, but they wont take responsibility since you gave the final approval. Honestly, I had to read it a few times to see what was different. I dont think most people read it that closely....I wouldnt worry about it.

One, don't worry about it, you can't even tell.

Two, I am also anal, I would e-mail her just because i would need just a little stisfaction, and for her to know she kinda should have caught it. But I work with print companys all the time & in the calendar my comp. put out last year there was a typo & they send proofs to wash there hands of the situation, now it's your problem, that's the way they see it.

Three you won't get any money back, but it still feels good to tell them.

I don't even read the invites when I get them except for the date/time/place information - and I'm an ENGLISH TEACHER...

Lol, and the couple who pointed it out to me last night... English isn't even their first language

no one will notice...

even if you pointe it out... it took me a good 30 seconds to see it.

its kind of funny,

the pleasure

or

your company

I might use that on the invites I'm sending to the relatives I don't like.

Non-English speakers usually read letter for letter and slower where as those of us who are fluent, just skim through the words.

I feel your pain, I just found out today my invites have a small error as well!
Don't worry about it though; these are the little things that make people crazy and really aren't that important in the grand scheme!

Re: Inivitation typo... damnit...

i just remembered an email ive gotten dozens of times. You have to count how many 'f's' there are in a sentence or something and most ppl get it wrong bc of how the human eye is trained to read things. I wish i still had that email

Espo22 Posted:

Re: Inivitation typo... damnit...

OH i searched and found it hahahahahaha. It says people dont process the word 'of' so thats why i think most won't notice, although yours says or instead, the point is that i think with that short word people go right over it and not look

Plus like others, most dont read the whole thing, i look at important things i need to know, place, time, date

I don't think anyone will notice.

If they do they might think the top of the 'f' got cut off.

I think it'll be okay -- but the printer should have caught it
