This is my first post, but I have been on liweddings for a while and I always see how helpful everyone! I have a question and I was wondering if I could get some opinions as to the wording on my invitations. I plan on ordering them later this week.
Here's what I was going to put:
Drs. Adrian and Diane Xxxx request the honour of your presence at the Nuptial Mass uniting their daughter Michele Adrienne to Timothy James Xxxx son of Mr. Richard Xxxx and Mrs. Bridget Xxxx-Xxxx Mr. and Mrs. David Xxxx in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony Saturday, the eleventh of July Two thousand and nine at half-past two o'clock in the afternoon St. Raymond's Church blah blah address
Here are my questions:
1. My fiance's parents are divorced and remarried, and in addition to this, his mother kept her maiden name. Does it look okay how I worded it with the son of...? We wanted to include everyone.
2. My mom wants me to mention its a nuptial mass. Can I just keep 'at the Nuptial Mass uniting their daughter' and take out the part that says 'in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony'? I feel like its very wordy there because of the parents names, what does everyone else think?
3. did I write 2:30 right, is it half-past or half after? I've seen both.
Any help/suggestions on these questions or in the wording in general would be much appreciated!!! Thank you!!
Michele

Re: Inivtation Wording- Please help!
1. I like the way you did it. totally appropriate 2. I think you should include the sacrament of holy matrimony...it tells what you're being united IN, but I don't think it's 100% necessary 3. Half past is the more common way.

Re: Inivtation Wording- Please help!
I think you did a great job! I avoided names all together and did together with our families but my situation sounds more complicated then yours.
Just to confirm - this invite indicates your parents are paying for the wedding
You might want to consider an 'and' between his two sets of parents names because i was a little confused by that at first - new line with new name and all...you could use an ampersand if you dont want to use the full word again.
