Re: Inlcudes all wedding packages

Well thanks anyway....

I think I would prob feel better picking everything out seperately....

But at 1st I saw the price and thought...huh good price... and all my vendors would be done.... easy way out i guess...but the outcome might now be as rewarding

I know someone who used the photographer at the wedding center and they were unhappy.

Re: Inlcudes all wedding packages

Let me just make a few points to you.

1: Do you really think it's possible for one place to be good at EVERYTHING? I mean, they may have nice gowns, but can they really also be great at being a jeweler, invies, photo, video, limos, dj, band, flowers.
I really don't think so. I'd rather go somewhere that has perfected one thing, rather than tried to mess with everything. I mean, I wouldn't ask my Dj to deisn my flowers and vice versa. it's just not possibe to be good at EVERYTHING

2: I went to a bridla show where the commack wedding center did the fashion show and it was by far the WORST osr disorganized fashion show I have ever ever EVER seen. NONE of the gowns were pressed, so they were all wrinkly. the owner admitted to not hvaing time to take the security tags off and kept saying 'We'll throw in the brooch for free' The models were his family members, he didn't know what half of the gowns were and kept saying 'oh I'm a man, what do I know about dresses?' He kept getting everything wrong. One of the mocels was not a family member and when she cameout and he didn't know what her dress was, he actually stopped her on the runway and looked down the back of the gown to see the tag! he kept yelling to his wife backstage..it was awful. I mean I'm sure he apid good $$ to be in this show and would want to put the best foot forward and it was awful. I would NOT trust these people with anything so important as my wedding day.

again, you just CAN'T be that good at EVERYTHING.

and also

You get what you pay for.

I'm not saying that a less expensive vendor can't be great, because there are some that ARE great, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I mean, if a band is really any good they cna charge $5000 all by themselves, same for a photographer, florist, etc. If they do good work, of course they can reel in more $$, so what kind of band, dj, flowers, whatever do you think you're going to get, if each of them is at max getting $1000? And how much effort do you think they'll put into your wedding if #1 they're not making much $$$ from it and #2 they are not taking personal pride in it, because you're not hiring the banmd, florst, etc by ame, it just all falls under rthe umbrella of the wedding center.

I'm sure many brides have ahd great experiences there. A friend of mine was so happy to have gotten her dress at a discount, but I've heard the service is pretty bad and it seems to be run like a mill, and you have to ask, if they're trying to do SO much, how could it not be a mill?

...there has to be a reason they would even have one date available at those prices...if they were good...but maybe you want to check it out just so you know you did...and won't be wondering if it would have been good.

Re: Inlcudes all wedding packages

Just wanted to add I used the Commack Wedding Center and LOVED it- I got almost everything there except my dress.

I loved my pics, video, invites, everything.

I shopped around for separate vendors and this was the best for me. Not even moneywise. I didn't pick them to save money. I loved having everything in one place- it was convenient and I had almost no issues- and any issues I did have were corrected right away.

I realize some people don't like them, everyone has their own opinion and experiences- just thought you should hear the other side- booking with them was the best thing I could have done.

I keep getting solicited from Queens Bridal in Lindenhurst. I know they have packages but I never went and checked them out. I think the best thing to do if find out who their vendors are and then start asking questions about them.

Yea I dont think I was really going to look into 'them' (CWC) so much but maybe into the whole wedding package idea..

I thought the same way many of you thought when I read this article...but wanted to make sure I wasnt missing a great opportunity either!
