we are having our wedding at The Inn at New Hyde Park. We have a budget, flowers are coming out to be a little more than we expected but nothing major that is going to be a real big deal. Anyway my question is, in the Grand Ballroom how would all small centerpieces look on the tables or a mix of medium and small. We thought since the room is so big, tall centerpieces would look better, but if we can save close to $1000 we wanted to see what other people thought.

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
Hey We decided to do half high half low CPs. I think that it adds a little more demension into the room- Im not big on everything looking the same, its too matchy matchy for me. A lot of people do half and half so I dont think its bad at all. In my opinion all low CPs would get lost in the room because its so big so I would def rec. half and half if you want to save some $$. If you want I have pics of my sample CP its only the high one but just in case you need ideas.

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
I can't spend too much on flower either, so i am doing tall branch CPs, along with half short CPs. They were the same price as the small ones at FBB since they hardly have any flowers, but they still do the job of bringing the eye up....
good luck
yay INN!!!

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
I have some pictures of the inn in the album. I got to see the room before someone's wedding recetpion started and she had tall small centerpieces. Take a look!! you could do small CP with Calla lillies or branches at the top to add height. Or you can do tapered candles which also look nice. Good Luck!
Lol I just realized, I didnt upload those photos- I will add it to my album now- gimme me a few minutes

most places, you do the menu just a few weeks before. Most places start contacting you like 6 weeks before

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
I spoke to Linda last week and she said we would make all detailed arrangments the month b4 the wedding.
I think high and low CPs would look great in the Ballroom. I'm doing Cherry blossoms (I think thats what they are) for the tall CP and orchids submerged in water for our low CP

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
I did not have my reception at the Inn but I did half high and half low centerpieces in a very large room and it worked out really nicely.
I am going to a wedding there next Friday so I will give a review after. If anyone has specific questions or things they want me to look out for let me know.

Im suprised you are able to get cherry blossoms in September? I tried to get them for my wedding but they are not available in June- only in May. Maybe they are getting them sent from somwhere??

Re: Inn @ New Hyde Park question
I'm also getting married at the Inn and I will be using low and tall centerpieces. I wanted to give the room a different look. And, also it saves money

We went to a wedding there a few weeks ago and all the CPs were low. They looked really nice.
