inner envelope?

I have read so many things about addressing invitations.

For the inner envelope for good friends can i just write their first names?

LIke outside would be Mr. & Mrs. X

but inside would be Amy and Jay

Is that ok?

Yes, its okay to do that.
I kept my inner evelopes formal still (with Mr. and Mrs. X....but without their address) but it can be done with just first names too.

Re: inner envelope?

We did our inner envelopes informally...even using nicknames we have for people. Everything about our wedding is so formal we wanted to add a little lightheartedness to it.

We did too! I only addressed it formally if it was someone we called Mr. and Mrs. normally.

Yes, that is fine.

Re: inner envelope?

I plan on addressing the inner envelopes however I address the people receiving it.

So, whereas all the outer envelopes will have Mr. and Mrs. (or whatever), the inner envelope would be say 'Aunt Peg and Uncle Jim' or 'Kerri and Joe' or (say for my parents friends) 'Mr. and Mrs.' -- I'm just going with what I call them.
