So, I'm DIYing the invites and traditionally, the outer envelope is addressed to whomever and then the inner envelope specifically states who is invited (like Mr. So-and-so and Guest). But, what if you're sending pocketfolds? How do you specify who's invited? (Like, if I 'm inviting someone without a date, just them) Do I just write it on the outer envelope and hope they get the hint?

Re: 'Inner Envelope' Dilemma
I am doing pocketfolds so you just need to be specific on the outer envelope...in this case, Mr. Robert Smith....since it doesn't say 'and guest...' they should know. If I received an invite that didn't say anyone else's name, I wouldn't bring anyone. Another option is to inside the response card, have a line that says ____ of 1 will attend. So they know only 1 is invited. Also...you could spread the word that you are having a small wedding or something to that effect so they get the hint.

ooh, I didn't think of putting something on the response card! Any more ideas? (Does the __ of 1 thing sound rude?)

Re: 'Inner Envelope' Dilemma
I am also DIYing my invites, and found it hard for me to find a inner envelope with the right measurements. I decided to just do the outter and specified and guest when neccessary. I do like the idea of putting the number on the response. I dont think it is rude. I feel that many people know when it states and guest , or not what that means. (although i do have one cousin who doesnot and seen her add a name.) hope this helped a bit!

I am also doing a pocketfold invitation (DIY pics in my album) and on the tag on the outside we decided that rather than putting our names there, we are going to put our guests names there. So the tags will be personalized to each guest and act as the 'inner envelope' that have names on it.
