Inner Envelope wording

Is the inner envelope written out less formal?
for instance, if we have Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shmoe on the outer envelope, do we write Flo and Joe on the inner, or do we write Mr. and Mrs. Joe shmoe on the inner?

You can do what you want for the inners, i went very informal, for example if the outer said Mr. & Mrs. Joe Shmoe on the inner i wrothe uncle joe & aunt ann. I even put nicknames on the inners like i have an uncle andy but we call him uncle butchie so i wrote hat on the inners

Thanks!

It sounds more personal that way.

We sort of did the same - Mr & Mrs Joe Shmoe on the outer...Mary & Joe Schmoe on the inner. I put the woman's name first - the whole Mr & Mrs Joe thing just irks me. For some, we used nicknames.

It just felt more personal to us, to do it that way.

Here is my questions re: this ... If I put on my Aunt Ann's cards - Aunt Ann - but she is my father's sister. Is that correct? If the invites are technically coming from the parents, can we still address them that way?

Also, I feel wierd about putting Aunt so and so and FH invites.

Am I just wrong? Please clarify

I did like everyone else mentioned for my side - Ann & Joe, Aunt Ann, etc but for DH's side I gave DH and MIL the list and they decided what to write

ETA - when you say you feel weird putting Aunt on FH's invites don't worry about it, because soon they will be your family.
