Inner envelope wording

Inner envelope wording

So i am at the point where i am finalising names and sending them off to the printer to have names on the inner envelopes and also on the outer envelope.

my question is this:

i have a few single friends that have been with their boyfriends for a while. one has been over 6 years and the other has been with him for about 2 years or so. i also have a friend and she has been with her girlfriend for about 2 months.

how do i address the inner envelope? i was thinking i was going to do all of them as:

Her name + Guest.

but in some ways i feel sort of bad about it, b/c i know their significant others and have spent time with them and know the personally. but who knows if they god forbid break up or their significant other cannot go, i want them to bring a guest.

TIA!

If I know the guest that will be rbought, I am addressing it with their name. I am only using 'and Guest' for ppl who do not have a significant other

If you know their significant others' names, put their names. 'And Guest' should only be used in situations where you either: don't know the person's SO's name or they haven't decided who to bring, but you want them to have the option of bringing a guest.

FH and I did run into that situation. We invited his friend and gf (at the time) and used both their names on the inner envelope. Last week he broke up with her but advised us his new date's name (I know, he got back into the game fast!). It was no problem though, because we put his new girl on the list and made a placecard with her name on it. It should work out for you if you use the SO's names.

That's what I did.

if i were you, i would put the 'guest's' name on the inner envelope.
we have many friends who have been dating their significant others for quite some time, and we addressed them by their names.

I personally think it is rude to put 'guest' when they have been dating for over a year. i remember receiving invitations from fh's side of the family after dating for 6 years and they invite still said nick and guest.. annoying. if you ask me.
