Re: Inner envelopes?

i think the inner is supposed to be pretty informal so i think no Mr or Mrs but maybe still a last name after their first on the inner and the outer would be Mr. and Mrs. John Smith

durrrr: the first way you said! lol, i thought you didnt have a last name

Re: Inner envelopes?

You can do it any of those ways, so long as it informs the recipient who is invited to the wedding.

Most of mine, I did 'John & Jane Doe' but on some I wrote 'Ben & Mary' and on some I wrote 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' -- id depended on how close I was to the people. Since I printed them myself on the printer at home, I had a lot of freedom to choose from.

If you want to make it all uniform, go with the formal way since it's easiest. Just make sure you also list children, if you are inviting them, by name on the inner envelope.

I read somewhere that you're supposed to do

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

and if you're inviting kids

Mr. and Mrs. Smith
John and Jane

that's how we will do ours

That's how I did mine, and we got it from Emily Post.
