Inner envelopes for invitations

Inner envelopes for invitations

I did not initially plan on doing outer and inner envelopes so I never put much thought into it. We decide to do wax seals on the invites so now we have to do the outer and inner envelopes.

I was just wondering...is it absolutely necessary to address the inner envelope too or is okay to just leave it blank?

the inner is used to write who you are inviting..like if you have an unmarried friend that you want to invite with a guest...

outer would say
Ms. Jane doe

inner would say
Ms Doe and Guest

all the invites ive ever got didnt have the inner envelope addressed.... dont worry about it unless you think you'll have a prob with people invited their kids who arent invited

I've gotten invitations with the inner both ways, either blank or with names. I'm not going through all that trouble, i'm going to leave the inner blank

I already planned on addressing the outer envelopes specifically for those invited so I am going to keep that as is. I was trying to avoid the extra step too. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to cause total chaos lol.

I didn't do inner envelopes and there was no chaos. The envelope had the names of everyone invited.

I've received invitations both ways so I don't think it really makes a difference unless you want to state specifically who is invited. You can even do it on only those that would need it and leave the others blank. Who would know?!
