Re: inner invite envelope
Some people address them, some don't, some people don't even have inner envelopes.
Do whatever you think is best for you!!!!!!!!

Re: inner invite envelope
you could skip it if you want, but if you are inviting people with dates and have their names but they do not live together, you could find yourself in a sticky situation. also, why have inners if you do decide not to write them out? many don't have inners at all. if you really want to skip writing on them, i'd skip using them as well...JMO.

Re: inner invite envelope
I think they are important to clarify just who is invited and give the opportunity to be a little personal.
Outer: Mr. Jack Jones Inner: Uncle Jack and guest

Re: inner invite envelope
I am definately not doing the inner envelope. I feel it is a waste. Personally I have been to over 20 weddings and each invite i throw them out and keep the invite and directions.
I am address my outer envelopes as:
Mr. .......... & Guest or Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Smith (example)

Its supposed to be a nice gesture to personalize it. but I dont feel it is important.

Re: inner invite envelope
the inner envelope was included with my invites - i didn't get lining so i figured it will at least be an extra little barrier to protect the invite card during mailing. i'll think about it. but if i'm inviting someone 'and guest' because they don't have a significant other - what does the 2nd envelope address matter? i'm confused. sorry

Re: inner invite envelope
A lot of people aren't even doing inner envelopes anymore - I don't think it is a big deal

this is exactly why we are using the inner envelpoes. so there is no confusion

Re: inner invite envelope
I am not addressing my inner envelopes. On the response card, I noted '___ Seat(s) have been reserved in your honor.' That way there is no confusion on whether or not they are invited with a guest.

Re: inner invite envelope
I only did the ones where I wanted to put and guest, or the kids names, or if someone had a partner with a different last name.

Re: inner invite envelope
I did them for about half of my invites. Basically did them for my family and friends and limited FH to his immediate family and for those guest that I wanted to know they were invited with Guest.
It saved some time.

Same here, they came out nice but if you don't want to do them I don't think they're necessary.
