So last week they cut some of our salaries by 20% and some others' salaries by 10%. The outcry was apparently so huge that today they reversed and now there is just a flat 10% paycut! I was cut 20% so I am now really happy, because a 10% cut is manageable! Now I just hope they don't lay people off again (they did a few months ago).

That s/ucks! I just had to take a 15% cut last week, and I feel as if I may as well work at McDonald's and make the same money and have less stress. I'm totally not even exaggerating either, which is the sad part.
I'm just so sick of this garbage, and hope it all turns around for us soon.

FH had a paycut recently, they did it as 1% for every 10,000 you were making.

Wow Im so sorry!!! That really isnt fair... its not like the price of living is going down either! Ughhhh I hope things get better soon bc its not right for them to do that!!

sorry to hear about this the economy is so crazy now that it is like walking on egg shells. Hopefully things will improve.
I'll take a pay cut over a pink slip any day.

Pay cuts are terrible but at least you still have a job. My dad has been out of work since December and unemployment is a joke. Hopefully things turn around soon

It is horrible at most jobs. They are making it more and more difficult from adding more responsibilities to outrageous tasks that they know can not be completed by the end of the day. This is their method to cut and reduce the work force or force people to resign. This is a particularly bad time for anything that deals with business, private companies/corporations, and anything in customer service/retail. At least on the bright side you are still working.
