I HATE mosquitos! (I don't think anyone likes them.)
Can you recommend effective insect repellants?
Do those electronic soundwave devices actually work?
Any mosquito free clothing?

Re: Insect Repellant
I am allergic to them and have been in the hospital 3 times from bites. Off makes a mosquito lamp. This works great!! Also all sprays with deet in it. The higher the lever of deet the more it repels mosquitos. Just be careful with kids to much deet is not good.

Do they make smaller versions of this lamp? I want something to carry around with me.
I don't want mosquito bites to ruin my vacation!

I've tried the Citronella candles and they're not that great. I still get bitten plenty. The only thing that works for me is the DEET-containing sprays.

Re: Insect Repellant
Off has a new repellent that contains PICARIDIN. Is is safer then DEET and doesn't smell. You can use it on children as young as 2 months old. It is not sticky, or slimy as other sprays and you can put this directly on to your skin (which is not recommended with DEET products) I use this on my daughter who has sensitive skin and it doesn't bother her at all. She is outside at summer camp all day every day for the past 2 weeks and has only had one or 2 bites (but I dont' know where they are from, they might be from later when she is at home and I forget to re-apply) Oh, that's the other thing, you can re-apply this, which is also not recommended with DEET products.

I don't know where you are going, but we bought Ultrathon insect repellant when we went to Costa Rica. It has 34% deet. I know DEET is not the most desirable product around, but I checked the CDC website before we bought it and this is what they recommened. There were mosquitoes galore in CR and we got very few bites.
