yah i met with her...and well she rubbed me the wrong way.

same thing here...they did not treat us the way we would have expected and just totally rubbed us the wrong way

we went with Verbena...Jennifer was really great and was so willing to work with our budget...and she asked us what we wanted instead of just assuming we were going to do CP's with her. we told her we were thinking of DIY'ing our CP's and she said that just in case she'd show us what she could do for us in the same price range..

well maybe it will be different. for you.i only met one and im not having floral centerpieces...

they made me feel like i was poor when in actuality what i wanna do is awesome and rose petals are all i need with the rest of it.

so...after my 1st experience im afraid of gettin the same reaction

and well...i dont have time to meet with a ton of people who will give me a hard time.

i have time til nov...but literally with my job i have no time to meet with people. haha

that stinks. i havent had any bad reactions.... regarding your pedestals comment - i went there as well and they had no problems with just doing personals.

We met w/ Flower Michele on Saturday. When it came time to discuss centerpieces and I told John that we weren't using floral ones he actually was really cool about it & said 'Wow, that's gonna be easy' We're probably going to go with them particularly b/c he didn't try to hard sell us (one of my biggest pet peeves) or make us feel 'cheap'. Some people aren't big flower people and we aren't.

I met with Barbara from Flower Michele and said I was probably doing my own CPs - she was totally cool about it - gave me pricing for them just in case I chose to go through them instead, but didn't make me feel bad/cheap/weird at all.

And I have to say their prices were pretty reasonable.

sorry to hear, i booked design by rose , and they were extremely helpful, told me to explore other options which i did, becuase they were actually the first florist i had seen and eventually went back to them. I never had that experience of them rubbing me the wromg way. just my opinion.

which it wasnt..that is why i told them i dont have a budget...i kno what i want..and told them but every other word was..
'thats too expensive' 'you dont want that its a waste of money'

everyone gets those different experiences...and i was upset bc shes close to home but forget it.

but a few of the other places you girls mention seem to be great. thanks for the info ladies!!

That s u c k s! I agree with whoever said that YOU'RE the one paying and they should do whatever you say!!! It's not like you want just 2 bouquets - you are still asking for a lot of stuff!

On a similar note, I had a band vendor tell me yesterday, after I told him very nicely that because they don't play a lot of the music FH wants to hear, it's just not good fit, that it would be hard to find what I am looking for and probably not a good idea to play the music we wanted to (grateful dead) because people wouldn't dance. Um, excuse me, does he know my family and friends??? Does he know what we like? What right does he have to tell me that? I didn't even honor it with a response, but now I might.... :)

I know -- it's just that they don't know any GD, and FH is dead-set on it. (ha,ha) But to tell me that my choice of music is not a wise one ... who the H*** is he?????

I have found what I think is the perfect band for us - actually, 3 of them - so I don't care about him!!!

I think you'll find MIke at Burton's very helpful. He sat down wiht us and discussed our ideas. His general attitude is so pleasant and accepting, I think he'd do personals for you without a problem!
