Instead of my MOH's caring boutquets...

Instead of my MOH's caring boutquets...

I was thinking about them carring baskets with flowers laying loosely in them. I wanted to let my girls wear different dresses so I wanted a way to show them as the MOH. what do you think?

since baskets are traditionally used by flower girls, I think it would be a little off for a grown woman to be carrying a basket.

a way to differentiate your MOH is to have a bigger bo-k for her, or maybe use some different flowers...

I don't know why but that reminds of me a Southern kind of style. Or maybe a garden wedding. I don't think it is as elegant/formal as a bouquet. But what do I know?!

I'm having my MOH wear a different dress (same color as the BMS) and her bouquet will be bigger and different color flowers than the BMs. I think that's what most people do to make the MOH stand out from the rest.

Ultimately it's up to you. You're the bride so what ever you want...goes!

Exactly what I was thinking...I like the idea of a bigger bo-k to differentiate your MOH, but not a basket. JMHO!

If that's what makes you happy!!!

I was considering doing the same thing, but I would be too worried about the flowers falling out of the basket!!

There are plenty of other options to bouquets for the girls to carry!! Some have held single roses, candles, rosary beads, etc. It's whatever you would think is best!!

very good points all, but one question...

is your flower girl also carrying a basket? I know you were thinking about them carrying Hershey's kisses....this is the only reason I would suggest against having the MOH carry the same thing as the flower girl.

What about just a single flower with a ribbon. I am not crazy about the basket.

well the flower girls were going to carry much smaller baskets. and I descided that instead of giving out hersy kisses I was thinking about handing out mini teacup roses. The MOH would carry a different flowers, and would carry them with one arm, not the same way as a flower girl. I saw a picture at stopNshops bridal salan where the bride was carrying the basket. I thought it would be cute. but thanks for the imput girls!

I have seen it done before for outside ceremonies, and I like it. It didn't seem childish at all. Very casual and outdoorsie.

Go for it, its different and the various sizes would differentiate between BM's vs flower girl.

I say go for it as well...its your day and if you want your MOH to carry a basket then have her do that...I do not see it as child like...she won't be dropping rose petals down the aisle? so why would it look child like? No reason to have to have everything by the book...so boring

I like the idea of doing something different. I saw (at a photography studio) a bride who had her BM carrying fans with a ribbon tied to it. They were very elaborately painted to coordinate with the dress color, and looked stunning!
