Instead of Table Numbers???

For some reason, I'm very anti 'numbers' for our tables. It's silly I know...

I know some girls have done names of streets, towns, baseball teams, etc.

Our theme is chocolate and originally I was going to do 'Snickers,' 'Kisses,' 'Hershey' table etc. But it sounds kind of lame. Any ideas? I couldn't think of enough upscale brands since there will be like 12-14 tables.

FH loves craft beer, but said not to name the tables after beers. Ha ha.

Anyone else doing anything like this and if so, what?

I think the chocolate idea is cute, maybe the girls on here can help you with names for all the tables

That's what I was thinking - and I was also thinking of putting minis on the table near everyone's plates... our favors are the little personalized hot cocoa packs.

Were going with a fall theme so our table '#''s will be tree names.

One of the girls on here used the word love in all different languages, maybe try something like that?

What about the word LOVE in different languages?

another idea I saw was a couple who used years as the table numbers...they used the years of significant events in their lives

for example

Table 1977- (name of brides) parents were married

Table 1980- ( name of bride) was born

then they took pictures of the event and created a watermark on paper, wrote the info on the paper and placed it in a frame.

I hope that makes sense.

Love this idea!! The only thing I would be careful about (and this is bc I worked in catering for years and seen it SO many times) is that people might get annoyed or frustrated if they have to walk around the whole room reading every 'table name'. It's easier with numbers bc they are almost always split up odd side and even side - so it is much quicker. But people might have to walk to all 14 tables before they find theirs. I love the idea of naming the tables, I might do it as well - but I think I will also give the numbers. But I would go for the chocolate theme if I was you!! Very creative

Yeah, but you can't worry about things like that. Hey my parents are seated at table 10!! But it's because of the position of the table is directly across the dance floor from us and that's the table they picked.

Exactly why i didnt name the tables with things having to do with Yankee Stadium. I just used different pictures in/around Y.S. and a # on it.
