Instead of worring about what

Instead of worring about what

I have no control of, I've decided to focus on the'fun' stress...

My FH & I had planned or honeymoon for November, we're going on a transatlantic cruise, spending 3 nights in the Canary Islands Our wedding was orignally planned for November.

We will be (legally) married this Thursday 9/1, and have our wedding on The Eleventh of September. We want to do a short stay somewhere, and are having difficulty deciding where.

We live on the east end on the beach already, & our wedding is on Dune Road. But it may be nice to spend the following two nights in Montauk.. The town is charming, and the ocean is right there, and it's a good 30/40 minutes away from our house. Our home has nicer furnishings than any of the hotels.

Oheka Castle is only 45 minutes away from us, and the rooms, are so lux as well as the grounds, and it's a CASTLE, but there isn't too much to day in the area... (There isn't an ocean within walking distance)

I would probably go with Oheka. I know other hotel has the ocean but Oheka is just soooo gorgeous!!!!

Thanks that's what I think, and it's O-H-E-K-A! FH isn't as impressed by that alone... I'm hoping for some selling points on Oheka or someone to sway this bride to the Ocean.

this, but my vote goes for Oheka. When are you ever going to stay there again anyway?

if you go with oheaka there are some great restaurants close by. you could always do a short drive over to huntington village to walk around. or you could walk around planting fields or the nassau county museum of art during the day neither are that long of a drive from oheaka.

Lisa, I love this & it might just be what I needed to hear (ah hem read).

honestly, i would vote for Montauk only because there would be more to do there. Who cares what the furnishings are like?

but, if your dead set on Oheka, does it really matter if there isn't much to do? It will be your mini-moon!
if you catch my drift!

im glad i could be of service. and like someone else said before, you could still make it super romantic - if you want nightlife, head over to huntington village via cab or limo to jazz it up - spa? poolside?

i used to go to montauk every fourth of july and while i love it there, IMO staying at oheka is a once-in-a-lifetime event - might as well do it for your mini moon

I vote Oheka, but I also wanted to tell you that Canary Island is the most amazing place ever. I was there about 5 years ago and I might be going back next year. I have family there.

I'm sure you will love the Island too.

where were you in The Canary islands? Any suggestions? We plan to do a camel ride, and FH wants to cook a steak on a rock... Any suggestions?
