we got renters insurance and added the ring to that...i forget how much but i wanna say like $500 for the year or something

It all depends on the value of your ring. Have you gotten it appraised through the GIA? If so, insurance providers can give you an estimate based on that document.
We already had renters insurance, so added my ring to that for a fee.

we use jeweler's mutual, and they come up with your rate based on the appraisal value of your ering, and where you live. if you have your appraisal, and go to their website, they will give you a pretty accurate quote.

It really depends on the value (not purchase price) of the ring... Try jewlers mutual, they have a calculator online. FH insured mine through them and I think it is around $850ish a year.
