insurance for reception hall
Has anyone ever gotten or hear of getting insurance for your hall. My agreement is that is If I cancel and they book someone else I only pay like a $500 fee but if they can't rebook I have to pay half. My parents keep asking me If I can get some type of insurance? Does anyone know? Thanks.

There is insurance available. WedSafe had the better deal of the 2 we looked at. I think coverage started at about $200. We decided not to get it, but now I'm wishing we had, because my Dad went back into the hospital again last night for the second time in a month, and my wedding is in just 3 weeks!!! I think the website is http://www.wedsafe.com If that doesn't work, post again and I'll try to find the info.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that all is well for your big day. I would highly recommend wedding insurance for everyone. It is not that expensive and well worth it if something unforseen should occur. I worked as a property and casualty agent for many years and believe me it is good to have!!

Wendy - thanks...
Thanks for your well wishes for Dad. You are right about insurance. We just procrastinated and eventually decided to forego it as it got closer and closer to the wedding. We should have know better, considering that last year I got pnuemonia and spend 6 days in the hospital myself. You just don`t know what could happen...

Reception insurance
I know that they sell insurance at TheKnot.com. It looks like it insures for everything except a change of heart.

Update on Dad.... better news.
Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. Dad was released from the hospital today. They found kidney stones and he is seeing a couple more doctors later this week. He says he'll be at the wedding if they have to put him on a stretcher to get him on the plane! I think everything will be fine! Thanks again for the kind thoughts.
