I work for an insurance broker and besides, disability, FMLA there isn't anything else. Many employers pay atleast half of your salary while you are out on maternity leave for the state mandated 12 weeks, check with your company you might get lucky.
As for not coming back at all I don't think there is anything you can do, if you leave you can't even get unemployment.

Re: insurance question please help
My company gives us 6 weeks (many do). If you have a C-section it would be a bit longer. And if you find a GREAT doctor he can extend the disability (but that's pushing it). Since this is a surgery, he would have to 'release' you. After that .... not much for you. The Family Act will let you keep your job but you will not get paid.

I think Family act the company has to hold your job for 3 months for you

Yes and you don't get paid. I don't know of any other solutions there. Disability is the only 'way out' for this one. But you have to be careful with insurance. Maybe someone else knows and wants to share with us!

What Im saying is , By law , if your company pays for your insurance then if u opt out they have to pay u the diffreence,, IE i have medical & so does fh, Im going to be going on his medical, & as long as I prove this to my job that I am being covered under his policy I opt out of mine & then get a extra $600 a year from my job , you should look into that ,

no that will not help Dh does not have ins- he runs his own company that is why I have to add him to my ins......and If I do it at any other time then open enrollment I have to pay all the back months so we got married 5/13/06 if I add him on in Dec I have to pay since 5/13/06....but if I do it at open enrollment then I pay from that day on ( I think that is sooooo redicuals)

I have to look into that. I am going to switch insurance (go under FH's ins) since his is cheaper than mine. We have 30 days from the wedding day to do it since my company does not allow out of enrollement date changes (unless marital status change, baby, etc...).
Are you saying that by 'saving' my company money (since they don't have to pay for a portion of my health insurance) they could give me a money incentive to do so?
