HI, I looking around for house insurance--does it mattter what insurance company you use?? Any suggestions?? Can you use an insurance company and then cancel it?? If anyone has an input please get back to me!!!! TIA!!!!!

I am confused because we are going to use ALL State and we just spoke to the agent and he is getting our insurance ready--and we are closing next week--I am getting worried!!!!

Give him a call...tell him what you've heard. I'd really be interested to find out...maybe they can still issue in LI. Where are you located?

All State said in order for them to write me a homeowners policy... I had to switch my car insurance over to them. HAHAHAHAHA... but NO.
I went with Liberty Mutual instead. Great rates and my rep was really good.
My car insurance is with Geico and they are usually very good. My wife totalled a brand new Jeep last year and we got back just about what we paid for it. Very quick too!

IMO- i would not go with Geico, everyone is overworked in their claims dept..
allstate is cutting back on what they are writing on long island and i've heard similar things about them...
dh works at state farm and we've enjoyed them. Only have them for the home because the cars cost more then the other company we found, but ive heard their rates are better now
