Re: Insuring a ring
it goes by the value of your ring, its a certain percentage of it...So if your Fh didn't get it appraised yet he has to do that first

Re: Insuring a ring
Here is a thread with alot of more info and places to get your ring insured, such as state farm, home insurance and all that...Plus it talks about prices
Mine was like $23 per $1000 of value or something for the year. So it varies depending on the value of the ring.

Re: Insuring a ring
its super cheap. I added it to my renter's insurance and it was like nothing much more than it was. I don't know exact numbers though.
It is definitely worth it everyone should have their ring insured you never know. I have heard such horror stories of rings being lost/ stolen. One of my friends from work just lost her 1.5 carat ring. Not good at all.

yea, it can run high. It's like a monthly bill payment. Worth doing though. The more value the ring, the higher you will pay to have it insured

Re: Insuring a ring
mine was about 200 for the year i didnt insure it for the appraisal value because my uncle is a jeweler in the diamond district. he made my ring and g-d forbid i ever had to replace it, i'd never pay the appraised price so there was no need to pay a higher insurance price anyway, its pretty cheap and it covers everything

its true that the more the ring is worth the higher the amount.. but its still not that bad. We went with Jewelers Mutual (we didnt want to put it under our parents homeowners and have to send them a check for it) Its a once a year payment. Def worth it!!

Re: Insuring a ring
I put mine under my parents home owners insurance....mine is about 350 a year...i dont think one hundred per carat is quite acurate at least it wasnt for my insurance..... either which way you are goiung to have to get it appraised first.
