Integrated test??

I'm going for this test at the hospital a week from today (at 12 weeks). This is the one with the blood test and the ultrasound that measures the baby's neck I think. So I have two questions:

1. How much blood is drawn? I had like 10 vials taken last Saturday, and since it was the first time I had blood taken from my arm ever (!) I was a bit freaked out!

2. When the technician does the ultrasound, will I be able to see it and will I get a picture of it like I did at my doctor's visit at 8 weeks?

I had a finger prick - 5 dots

They told me the same as Karen - a finger prick and a normal sono - more pics!! I go for mine on 3/17 so let me know how it goes!!

Just had this done last Saturday...it's called a Nuchal Sonogram or NT Sono. They do a regular sonogram and measure the back of the neck...then they just prick your finger and take 5 drops of blood. That's it!!! I'm awaiting my results, BUT the tech and Dr. said the measurement looked great...now I have to wait for the blood work. Apparently they are looking for certain markers in the blood.

I got great pics of the baby!! It was moving all over the place and we got to hear the hearbeat. It was great.

I was told by the nurse practitioner that it was 80ish% accurate as a first screening for Down's. I'll keep you posted on the results.

Maybe it depends on where you go? I had it done at winthrop and I had a full vile of blood taken.
The sono was great! I got tons of picts to take home

I had mine done at the Madonna center in Babylon. They were great. They did the sono and took 5 drops of blood.
