Intense Pulse Light/ Laser Hair Removal

Has anyone had any experiences with Intense Pulse Light or Laser Hair Removal? I would like to get my bikini done, but do not know anyone who has had either of the procedures. I'd love to hear any feedback any of you have. Thanks!

My friend had it done at a very upscale derm office on the UES. It was very expensive and quite painful but it did work for her.

I had it done!!! It was the best thing for me! After three sessions though, most of my hair was totally removed. I had it done on my underarm and I haven't had to remove hair for over a year!!!! Totally bare! Very cool and painless, but it does cost money

I am having it done, around sideburns. After three sessions it didn't work for me and Derm. will do a fourth one for free, b/c I was 'a perfect candidate' with fine dark hair on light skin.

I would say its painful, to a point that I would not try to do that for a larger portion of my body than sideburns. The Doctor said that I am unusually sensitive to pain, and had to adjust the power of the lazer to make it less painful for me.

I have a friend who used laser for her upper lip. I think she went twice and it cost 1000 total. She said it was very painful but it worked.
I've done electrolysis on my upper lip. It took a long time but wasn't too painful.

i thought laser hair removal wasn't supposed to be very painful?? now im having second thoughts

It wasn't painful at all for me... the physician I used was the best- she has several laser machines, analyzes color, texture of your skin and I fell asleep while It was going on!!!!

I am going back for bikini are and eyebrow at the end of Jan.

I would love to do it, but they warn darker skin people away from it...Darn hair...I guess its shaving for me until they come up with something else.

I did soooo much research on it before I decided on who to go with... I went for a consultation at this chi- chi Manhattan private office called Institute Beaute where they serve you coffee and cookies. LHR is all they do there. The woman who does the intake is Suzanne. She does the consultation, makes sure you are a good candidate, analyzes skin color, tone, texture and receommends best treatment and machine. To be permanent, you have to do it three times. FM for more info.... Hope this helps.

The whole thing over time, for the 3 treatments came to 2000, It is expensive- Crazy- but to have smooth underarms or legs for eternity is worth it to me.... It was so nasty before- especially n the summer!!! UGH- If I went one day without shaving...
