interesting article

i was listening to the radio a few mornings ago and polygamy was the topic of discussion. quite a few of the callers were strongly against the practice. a few of the callers were children that grew up in a household where their father had multiple wives. one caller said she thought everyone did it until the family split up during her adolescence. another caller said that he was from and african country where the majority of the population is muslim and most households practiced polygamy. he said he witnessed wives throwing scalding water at eachother during fights sparked by jealousy. he also said that in some families the wives came from different economic backgrounds, if the wives family were wealthy sometimes the children would have more and better quality possessions than the other children living in the household. this too led to fights about jealousy.

i'm quite sure there are families that are successful and happy but i don't think i could do that. i couldn't share my husband with other women. i guess this is because i didn't grow up in this belief system and noone can convert me either!
