Interesting; got a wedding invite where we had to....

choose our entree and indicate it on the reception card. It's a Michigan wedding. I suppose this is common in other parts of the country? Well....yummy. I'm having Hawaiian Mahi Mahi!

Yes, this is done for catered weddings so that the caterer could bring the appropriate amount of entrees. It sounds yummy!! Have fun!!

I've seen that too. My friend had their wedding in Florida and it was like that.

Chicken or Beef.

Hmm...now how do I know what mood I will be in that day?

Is it Filet Mignon or Prime Rib?

Is it Chicken Marsala or Chicken Kiev?...ooo maybe Chicken Cordon Bleu?

I didn't pick an entree and it was fine.

BTW-It was a grilled chicken breast with some funky sauce...

So chicken with funky sauce..

that's how they do it outside of NY - heck, outside of the NY metro area.

some of the OOT guests from my wedding were asking my MIL how they choose they're meals when they got their invites

thats actually pretty common- even not to far away... two of my friends who have gotten married in jersey ( only about an hour from the NY metro area) had this for their weddings..... we also had this for my parents anniversary party a couple years ago. two of these events were at actual halls, and not things where the caterer had to know what meals to bring..... i don't think its as uncommon as you think.....

Yeah...that's normal outside of the metro area like Dina said. I went to a friends wedding in July upstate and we had to choose.
It reminds me of the King of Queens episode where Arthur had to decide whether he wanted the chicken, beef or fish. I think he chose the fish and then that day he was craving the beef... it's a hilarious episode....

We were invited to a sweet 16 in Rhode Island with the request to choose our entree.

Yeah, where I'm from the do it (MA). It's funny because the reply card usually says:

chicken____

beef_____

But when I was buying invitations in DC, instead they had a picture of a cow and a picture of a chicken! It was sooooo cute. I love that I'm having a wedding with 7 entres and they choose at the wedding. But...That cow and chicken were too funny. I would LOVE to have that on my reply card!
