Interesting news about my home...

Not sure if I have told anyone this, but the previous owner...
died in my house.
Not sure how I feel about it.
he was young.

The neighbor told me.
Actually, a few of them did.
It was a young family- he was an ex pro football player- he died of a heart attack.
Breaks my heart- he was only in his 30s.
Also creeps me out.
I wonde rif it was in my bedroom?

Aslo- the family never returned after that- that's why the house was vacant for 2 years.

Wow, that's really sad, esp since he was so young!!

Don't be skeeved, it's not like it was a bloody murder or something. That I would understand being freaked out by.

awh. that is sad.

While it is somewhat creepy... if I were you - and was made aware of those details before I purchased... it wouldn't have changed my mind.

If it were a violent death, that would change my mind.

True- it wa snot violent, but it's still sad, and like- sudden.
The neighbors actually told Victor and my MIL- I heard second hand.
My reaction was still along the lines of 'you stop it'.
But less Laurie.
Probably more like- 'shut up'

I was just talking to DH about this last night (we saw that preview for that movie with John Cusack and hte Hotel Room where tons of people die). I was asking him if he would have stitll bought our house if someone was killed there - he said yes.

I think it is sad, but at least it was a natural death. Now you just need to bring the happiness back into the house.

I think the old broad that owned the house(1 owner ago) we are buying died there, but no one is fessing up.

strange yet intriguing. there was almost a man violently killed in our house...but he moved out before my gun permit came through. KIDDING.

After we moved into our apartment we were told by the handyman that there was an accidental shooting in my house and the guy died in one of the back bedrooms(loved that the real estate agent and landlord left that out when we signed the contract). Then found out from the police who were actually in my house for the call that it was a love triangle and the wife was having an affair with the husbands bestfriend. The bestfriend came over to hang out supposedly and when the husband wasnt looking shot him in the head and took off. Also found out that the wife and her mother(before they moved in here) drugged her abusive father and killed him with the boyfriend and buried him in the woods. Oh Yeah want to talk about having reason to be creeped out I dont think I would have ever moved in if I knew.

We found out the previous owner was a 95 yo minister and he died in the house It creeped me out too, but now it's a running joke. DH and I moved in before we were married and I refused to have adult relations with him until we were married....what would minister Scantelberry think? He was sooooooo happy when we moved the wedding up!!

Im wondering if I should ask my real estate agent the same thing. I know the parents who lived in the house divorced and then the mom died and the son died right after graduating high school. Kind of creeps me out.
