interfaith brides

interfaith brides

are you concerned that your ceremony will be over 30 minutes. I am getting married at the RH and only have 30 minutes. We are having two officiants and want to make sure that we dont go into our cocktail hour.

Anyone else worried about this?

Ugh, i'm dreading this. But we've cut ALOT out, not even because of the time constraint, just because both of us feel the same way about ceremonies, we like them short and sweet. And they can be just as meaningful that way. We don't like singers, or readings, etc. So we're having the priest and the rabbi really just do the intro (say a little about both of us and our 'story'), rings, vows, kiddush, unity candle, step on the glass. Over.

P.S. We also have already explained to both of them that we CANNOT go over 30 minutes including the BP and my entrance, and will do so again before the ceremony begins.

no not at all. we are having a retired judge marry us, not a priest and rabbi, so that makes a difference, and he has given us guidelines so that the ceremony should be about 15-20 minutes, which leaves plenty of time for the precession and procession.

I totally forgot about the processional and recessional. Wow! Guess it doesn't give you too much time to play with. I am going to talk to our Rabbi and cutting some stuff out.

I don't want to miss out on cocktail hour
