Interfaith Clergy Question

Interfaith Clergy Question

I'm having a priest & a rabbi performing my wedding ceremony. I was wondering when you met with them to discuss the ceremony, did you meet with them separately or together?

I am meeting and booking my rabi now and then FI will book his minister. I believe that they talk and plan things out among them and we will meet with them separately.

Re: Interfaith Clergy Question

you probably need to meet with the priest separately.... are you receiving this as a Sacrament? if so, there is a lot of paper work that needs to be done: there is an inter-faith dispensation that must be completed, Pre-Cana must be arranged and completed, etc. etc. (All this is if you or whoever the catholic is wants their marriage to be recognized by the Church).

A priest marrying you without the proper dispensations and NO pre-cana is not a valid marriage for the Catholic (by the state of crouse, but not by the Church.)

After you organize everything with the priest, it might be good to have everyone meet together to decide who's doing what...

Re: Interfaith Clergy Question

We are also having a priest and rabbi but we hired them together so we met with them each privately and then together, on the same day.

They are part of the interfaith clergy network and they do a lot of weddings together. My fiance is catholic and he has to get the special papers, proof of baptism, etc.
