Interfaith Marriage

I posted this under Brides helping Brides, but I didn't get any responses so I thought I would try 2010 brides... can anyone offer any input?

Hi everyone,
I am new to this site and all things wedding... I wanted to ask about interfaith ceremonies. My fiance and I are planning on having a Catholic/Jewish ceremony at the reception hall prior to cocktail hour/reception. We are having it at Leonard's in Great Neck. Does anyone have anyone they recommend for the ceremony? Any pointers??
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Interfaith Marriage

We are using Ryan Kaplan. He is an officiant but is incorporating elements of Jewish and Catholic faith into the ceremony. FM me if you want his info/details

Check out Pastor April. She wrote a wonderful interfaith ceremony for us :).

Re: Interfaith Marriage

we are using Cantor Shel Rokofsky and Father Chapman, they work together to do interfaith ceremonies.

FM if you would like Cantor Rokofksys email, he is a really nice guy (friend of FH's family)

We're in the same situation. I'm jewish and fh is catholic. We are having a rabbi and priest marry us and they will take turns incorporating both religious backgrounds into the ceremony. We are using rabbi stein and father andrez.

I am also catholic and my FH is Jewish. We might not be in a similar situation because neither myself or FH is religious so we are having Minister Keith marry us. He is sooo wonderful. He will do religious aspects too. Contact him and ask him for some advice. He is so easy to talk to.

Re: Interfaith Marriage

I don't really have any help here (a friend is marrying us) but there are TONS of interfaith people out there and just contact them and meet with them. It's really nice to hear other people are doing interfaith as well (I'm Jewish and FH is Catholic). I will say that my parents had an interfaith marriage done at Leonards 35 years ago by a Justice of the Peace and they said they wouldn't change anything! (Mom's Jewish and dad's Catholic).

Well Good Luck!

Re: Interfaith Marriage

We decided to use a minister. I'll send you a message with his information so you can contact him and see if he would work for you too :)
