I'm trying to find information from anyone who has done an interfaith pre-cana program on Long Island. Can you tell me how you found out about it and what it entails? I am Catholic and come from a very religious family and my fiance is Jewish and comes from a very religious family, as well, who is having problems with the traditional pre-cana program. My church requires a 20 hour pre-cana. Does anyone know of a church that requires less time (even though it is not interfaith)? Thank you very much for your help!

Re: Interfaith Pre-Cana
I went to an interfaith pre-cana class. I'm Russian Orthodox and my husband is Roman Catholic. We were getting married at a Roman Catholic church so I went online and signed up for the interfaith class at the diocese in Queens. There were about 50 people there and it was 2 hours on a Friday night and all day on Saturday. It was so easy and because there were so many people it was not awkward at all. FM me if you want more info.

Re: Interfaith Pre-Cana
I am jewish and my fiance is catholic and we already found a priest and a rabbi to marry us. The only problem is is that we were not able to attend the pre cana which they held on March 21st and the priests's assistant was a nightmare to say the least. The next one is not scheduled until the beginning of October, which is cutting it close to my wedding and we are afraid that that might be canceled. Can we sign up for any interfaith pre cana? Or does it have to be with my priest? Also where can I find one to sign up for? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Not sure if the original poster still needs this info since its from Janaury but in any case...this sounds like a good idea.
Also, I am getting married at the Unitarian Congregatin in Manhasset- they are all over Long Island and I bet that they could refer you to an interfaith pre-cana. Now Im wondering if I will have to do this but I guess the minister from the congregation would do it.
