Hi Gals, I'm catholic and fh is Jewish. We're trying to set a wedding date. My FH does not mind getting married on a Friday Night. As a matter of fact, he prefers it. However, I'm reluctant because I'm afraid we will not be able to get a reform Rabi or Cantor. I asked my FMIL ...and she had no clue! So does anyone know if a reform Rabbi will do a friday night?
I wouldn't think that you would be able to find a Cantor or Rabbi to marry you on a Friday night. I may be wrong, b/c I'm Conservative, not Reform, but I still think it is very unlikely...Good luck!
That's what I thought! And MY FH insists! And He is the one who is Jewish!
Is it important to him and/or his family to have a Rabbi/Cantor at the wedding? It seems like he's more concerned about the day of the week, which is totally his perogative. Or is it that he thinks you will be able to find one for a Fri. night wedding?
I'm also having and interfaith wedding. I'm Catholic and he's Jewish and we are having ours on a Sunday. I just asked him, and he thinks a rabbi will perform a ceremony on a Friday as long as it's before sundown.
My husband and I just got married last month, on a Friday night, and had no problem finding a rabbi. It did take some time finding one who we liked and wasn't a fortune, but we did meet with 4 rabbi's, all who were willing to perform the ceremony with our priest.
