Re: interfaith wedding pre-cana
I am having an interfaith ceremony where both a priest & rabbi will be present. My priest is having us go through an inter-faith pre cana.
Do you already have an officiant?

Re: interfaith wedding pre-cana
We are using the interfaith clergy network. The priest recommended that we do it, but we aren't required to.
I'm jewish and FH is catholic.

Re: interfaith wedding pre-cana
I am catholic & FH is jewish & honestly the only reason I have to or want to go trough the interfaith pre-cana is so that my marriage is 'valid' in the eyes of the catholic church. This way I will be allowed to baptize my children. If you want to skip that part you will probably be able to find someone easily who does not require pre-cana.
I forgot to mention that I am using Msgr Lisante & Rabbi Block.... Let me know if you would like contact info.

I am using Rabbi Stein and my FH is having his priest as well... there are many people who will marry interfaith now.. Good luck.

Re: interfaith wedding pre-cana
If you want your marriage to be recognized as a Sacrament by the Church for the Catholic, you must do Pre-Cana. they have inter-faith pre-cana and people i know that have done it have found it VERY helpful as it addresses the challenges you will face as an inter-faith couple. i say go for it!

Re: interfaith wedding pre-cana
he is really not interested and neither am i in going- we will and have worked out any differences we feel - i was just wondering if anyone was NOT participating and who their officiants are that were not requiring it
