Interisland flights -= Hawaii

Does anyone know if you have to book these tickets in advance, we are going to 3 islands, OAHU, MAUI, and KAUI. (and trying to book it all ourselves)

does anyone know if you have to book these in advance and how frequent they schedule departures?

I would fly Aloha Air - not Island Air- that's the propeller (sp?) one and I nearly died on the landing!!!!

Remember: ALOHA AIR!!

I believe i just flew Hawaiian.

We booked 1 flight before we left (to get to Maui) and booked the flight from Maui back to Oahu while we were in Hawaii, a little less than a week in advance I believe.

flights are constantly going from island to island-they are like shuttle buses in the air!
I booked all flights before hand just to make sure I got where i wanted when i wanted---there are no assigned seats on the interisland flight either and i remember the flights always being full so you may want to book before hand just in case!

Hawaiian Air now has assigned seats, not sure if Aloha Air does too

We took both Hawaiian and Aloha. Hawaiian is assigned (and a better airline IMO), and Aloha is open seating similar to Southwest-they have 3 boarding groups, but the first one is 'preboard' the second was Frequent fliers, and the third was everyone else.

Our honeymoon is in October and i just booked all our flights last week. We booked through Orbitz.com and we booked our initial flight to hawaii and the interisland flights all in one (its called Multi-city ticket). I would think the sooner you book it, the less you're going to pay.

*i've heard that there are flights inter-island every hour.

All you do is log onto www.orbitz.com, click on the tab Flights, click on multi-city (which gives you 3 flights), but on the bottom you'll see it says Add Another Flight in blue. Click on that and you can keep adding. Good luck!

Our travel agent says that she will book the island to island flights when she books the main flights. She said it should be cheaper that way! We will see?

Fly Aloha Air or Hawaiian Air!!

DO NOT (I repeat do not) fly Island Air...we thought we were going to die. DH hates flying but when we say the 2 propellar (sp?) plane that the walked us to on the tar mat he almost died. There was one man in a uniform who opened the doors, brought down the steps, loaded theliggage & THEN put on a pilots hat & flew!! Th whole flight was rocky & shakey & the landing was horrible.

Splurge for the others - smooth sailing & they treat you well
