INTERVIEW

INTERVIEW

I have an interview scheduled for next Tues.

Wish me luck ladies...even though I'm not sure it's what I want to go back to doing it's still an interview.

Thankfully I have a friend that worked at that place that can give me some scoop.

Throw some interview questions that have stumped you or that you thought were great questions....it's been a while since I've interviewed.

Re: INTERVIEW

Strengths & weaknesses- turn the weakness into a strength

why did you go into your field

how have you dealt with a difficult work situation

do you prefer to work as part of a team or as an individual

how do you motivate yourself to accomplish unpleasant assignments?

what are the characteristics of a successful team

what motivates you- I actually had someone tell me money once

what attracted you to this position

why are you leaving your current job- you have a great response for this one

what can you do for the company that other applicants cant?

Re: INTERVIEW

your biggest weakness? the trick is like mentioned above to turn it into a positive.

Also make sure you do research on the company, many like to see that you know info about them and took the time to research. They can hold it against you if you go in and say you know nothing about them.

Re: INTERVIEW

i think its really important to have questions for them, about the company or its mission or how your role fits into the bigger picture.

good luck!

Re: INTERVIEW

hey - while we're on the subject, how do you find out about pay???

I'll be interviewing for jobs once i move to Colorado in January, but since I don't know anybody in the field in that area, I have no clue how much they pay. Obviously that's important me! I won't work for less than a certain amount, but I just don't know how you bring that up without it looking bad.

How do you handle this awkward question???? I don't wanna accept a position without knowing this.

My best friend has been interviewing since she is jobless again. She went on one on Wednesday and they asked her what she thought her references would say about her if/when they called them. I thought that was an interesting one!

Good luck to you!
