interview advice...same interviewer...different place?

interview advice...same interviewer...different place?

so I am going on an interview Thursday morning...and while I was browsing the webpage I am in shock when I see who the prinicpal is!! the same principal of another school I interviewed with in June...He left that school...for this one...

anyway...at the interview in June...I didn't do as well as I would have liked (not offered the job ) but I was in a very weird place in life...i had just moved across the country and 5 weeks later DH was off to Spain to help his mom in an emergency. i stayed for the interview, but was leaving right after.

So he left a message to call him on my machine, but since I was in Spain, when I checked it I screwed up the answering machine and knocked it offline and it was a constant busy signal - so he couldn't call back...so I called the guy until I reached him...and he told me I didn't get the job...but it sounded like he wanted to say something else to me, but I was disappointed - so I just thanked him for and that was it.

He may not even remember me...but what should I do if he does? If he doesn't should I bring up anything or just let it go...(why remind him that I was someone who didn't get the job? )

Hmmm...I would not say anything until he brings it up (if he does). That was a while ago - he didn't recognize your name so unless he recognizes your face, don't worry!

Hey Erica, I know if it were me that interviewed someone, I would remember that person. So I think he may remember you. I would be prepared to talk about it when you go.

not sure if he picked the resumes out...most likely no...and he may not even be at the interview...but I think he will - if he was at the last one...

there is a chance that he wanted to hire me and the panel didn't...or I know that the old school only had 2 counselors and they hired a man (already had a woman) and it is usually a big deal to have at least one counselor of each sex...

so am I kidding myself? my hair is shorter than it was...so maybe he won't remember

julykbride, i agree with that...but since he didn't remember her name...i dont know. If he does bring it up, just say 'I am fully willing, able and excited to be a part of your team!'

I would maybe say something...just because he might expect you to remember him...just keep it to something like 'I'm sorry how things turned out the last time after you interviewed me, I had to go out of the country on a family emergency and because of that, I was not very focused on our interview, but things are much better now and I hope that comes across this time around'.

Or something like that.

He might not remember you as much as you would him - but he may and you don't want to chance that...if you touch upon it and say you hope that things go better this time around, it might break the ice.

GOOD LUCK!
