Interview Questions

Interview Questions

My company is hiring. And the position to be filled is my assistant's position as she is going to take my position of VP when I leave for the baby. It's a major job that needs to combine a tremendous amount of skills + a super dynamic personality. We have the tendency to find one or the other….very rarely do we find the right combination and since the company is small, we can't have a weak link - especially as I have to pass the reins within the next couple of months.

I have never had to interview. We have owned this company for 7 years, and before that I waitressed, temped, etc. So I don’t have my own personal experience. Can anybody out there tell me good interview experiences that you felt asked questions that really allowed you to 'shine'? Gave you the opportunity to share yourself and get your personality and your skills across?

Re: Interview Questions

Since I just went on an interview...

How about tell me why this position would be good for you? (after obviously telling them the dynamics of the position and what it would entail)

What are your assets? (I hate this question, though)

Re: Interview Questions

I have not interviewed in years but I really liked when they asked me to tell them what led me to them today. That type of question let my history just flow out. I got to tell them about my past, my assets and why I want the position they have open. I really like the open ended questions.

Good Luck

Re: Interview Questions

these are just some of the questions I have come across and that I found on Monster.com:

tell me about a time you had a boss you had a problem with and what did you do to solve the problem

tell me about a time you went above and beyond your job description

tell me about a most recent project

tell me about a time you took initiative

Tell me about a time when you had to sacrifice quality in order to meet a deadline.

Tell me a brief history of your background and experience.

Give me an example of when you've done more than your job required

What was the most difficult assignment you have completed using your computer skills?

Do you remember what attracted you to the ad for this position?

How do you use your time when your boss is out of town?

When have you been the most satisfied with your job?

Tell me about a time when you had a confrontation with a coworker or boss.

Do you have any questions? (This is usually asked by the interviewer at the end of the interview.)

Jenny, what type of person are you looking for? For what type of company? My friend Daria is looking for a job. She just graduated with a BA in Marketing. She doesnt have any experience in the business field yet, but she is very personable, full of energy and a real people person. Fm me with the details if you are interested in meeting her.

Also where is the company located?
