From reading the other post... I shouldn't be introducing the bottle to Caiden yet? It will confuse him? I thought I'm suppose to start introducing it around 4 weeks so he's use to it when I go back to work? He's 5 weeks tomorrow? What should I do? We haven't given him one yet.

Re: Introducing the bottle...
If I remember correctly you are going back to work when he is 6 weeks.
If this is the case I would definitely have you DH give him some bottles to get used to it.
You want to make sure he is used to a bottle for his caregivers

I would give him a bottle right away because it may take some time. If he will not take it from you, then ask someone else to try. Be sure you leave the room because if he can see you or smell your milk he may not take the bottle either.

Re: Introducing the bottle...
You need to introduce the bottle asap and make sure he is given a bottle a few times a day (not during the evening hours since you will nurse him at that time) Are you phasing him into daycare this week?

No... he starts on the 23rd. I am so upset about it.
Now if I shouldn't have my DH give him a bottle in the evenings because I will be breastfeeding him, when can he give him a bottle? He's only home at night?
I'll have to give it to him during the day then. But that probably won't work?

Re: Introducing the bottle...
Every baby is different. Some babies will easily go from breast to bottle from the mommy and others will not. Melissa- are you spending anytime at the daycare with the baby before you start back? It is called phasing in and you stay with the baby day 1, leave for a little on day 2 etc...so you feel okay when your first day of work begins.

Re: Introducing the bottle...
Melissa ... Phasing in sounds like a good suggestion, maybe that will help.
When we first introduced the bottle, we didn't pay much attention to what time of day it was. Sometimes mornings (when DH was home) sometimes night. She can now go easily from breast to bottle.
Good luck .. and make sure that you're pumping while DH is feeding her to start building up your supply. I'm trying to get ahead now, and its very hard!
