Have your parents met FH's parents yet? Have they even spoken?
My FMIL lives down south and doesn't come up here so she hasn't met my parents yet. I've also been lazy and haven't given them phone numbers yet. FMIL isn't really paying for anything so they haven't had to coordinate anything together yet.Just curious if I was the only one.

Our families are VERY different, we got introductions out of the way last summer.. it was interesting.. Nice to have out of the way though.. Is your FMIL not coming up until your wedding?

they have met and have actually become pretty friendly...went to dinner together last weekend, which is nice...i think exchanging numbers might be a nice idea

yes they met soon after we got engaged about 2 weeks after actually a week bc we were on vacation when we got engaged for a week after we got engaged.
They get along very well and have had dinner a couple of times already. They call eachother for the holidays and about other things. It was real nice bc last week when my dad was admitted into the hospital his parents went on their own to see my dad.

not the only one! my mom has met FMIL at a partylite show I did years ago, but that's the only time. They talked and got along well though. I think they have spoken on the phone a few times, re: a suprise bday 'ladies lunch' my mom had for my 30th that FMIL couldn't come to because she had a family thing to go to ... And FFIL and my dad have never met! My mom didn't meet him either. They live in florida now so they will most likely meet at my shower and at the rehearsal dinner!!!! I wish they could meet and have dinner ...

My FH's parents are both deceased, but he's one of 5 so I've met all except one of his sisters/brother and most nieces. Some came to the engagement party but some couldn't make it.

She's coming up for the shower too, so I guess they'll meet at my shower. FH's side of the family = very small (him, mom, sis and her hubbie and 2 kids). No other family, so our parents didn't need to discuss who to invite to the different invites bc there really is no family.

Our families are very different as well. We took both sets of parents as well as my Nana and sister to dinner. It went very well. Just enough time together w/o anyone feeling overwhelmed!

They met about a week after we were engaged. FILs invited my whole family for a BBQ, my mom invited them over for sunday dinner. They get along really well!! They speak on the phone occassionally (planning shower) and they're planning a weekend in AC together!

Our parents met just a few months after we started dating. FH's mom invited them upstate to their house for a night and my parents actually went. Everything went well and now they are friends and see eachother for bdays, holidays or just for random dinners FH and I like to go out for. my FMIL even came over to bake for the holidays.
