Intuition or paranoia

Intuition or paranoia

How do you distinguish between the two?

How does one stop short of becoming the other?

When you intuition has been colored by fear, how can you trust yourself....your thoughts?

How do you keep yourself from rash behavior when the wondering is driving you mad?

In my house, I have always waited for the other shoe to drop. always been wary of everyone around me.

I have never trusted my family.

I don't know that I ever will.

Paranoia

I have never trusted my family.

Intuition

Intuition:

1. direct perception of truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process; immediate apprehension.
2. a fact, truth, etc., perceived in this way.
3. a keen and quick insight.
4. the quality or ability of having such direct perception or quick insight.

Paranoia:

1. baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

It comes down to perception and suspicion... which is which.

thanks.

I have lived in a state of pretty much constant apprehension most of my life....the intensity is the only change.

If I am constantly expecting and assuming the bad, of course if and when it happens I can say 'I knew it' but I am not sure if it's b/c I sensed it or b/c the doomsayer in me has every possible terrible scenario somewhere in my brain...if you 'know' of every eventualily, eventually one of them will come true, no?

I babble. I know.

I think I need meds.

This is probably easier said than done, but what if you flipped it and started to expect the good and the best. Do you think maybe your expectations of the outcome play a factor in determining the outcome?

Babbling is good... its part of the thought process... babble on sista!

i am the same way
i think its generalized anxiety disorder - i have meds but am scared to take them ( prob part of the disorder i assume that i will have a bad reaction to them OR get addicted, not that they could help me. . . )

i have thought up possible things that could happen before and during my wedding that i am actually ashamed of. . . i mean ridiculous things - and a few every single day. . . just bc it is 'my wedding' etc.

sorry i cant really help you!
