Soo- I've read that if a family has a child over the age of 18 they should get their own invitation. Now my good friends have 6 children- 4 of them over 18 and they all live home. DO I have to send out that many invites to one address? it kills me! And they are my next door neighbors..lol... I hate to send out 7 invitations to one family.. PS... mom and dad are divorced so they are getting their own invites either way. TIA

Nope, send 'em one. I know the 'rule' is over 18 gets their own invite, but rules are made to be broken.

Thanks! So how should I address it? The ****** Children? And then their individual names on the inner envelope? Or just The ***** family? with the entire family...

Re: Invitation addressing help!!
That's a tough one. We are not running into that problem so much (I think the most we have are 2 children living in the house over 18) so they will be getting their own invites.
But for that many I would just maybe do the one and address it to 'The Smith Family'.
Only thing though, is everyone getting a guest? Than do 'The Smith Family' on the outer envelope, and then on the inner enevelope list everyone's name 'and Guest'

Re: Invitation addressing help!!
I did: Mr. & Mrs. John Smith Ms. Sara Smith & Guest Mr. Will Smith & Guest Mr. Joe Smith & Guest Mr. Barry Smith & Guest
(except Will Smith isn't really invited to my wedding )
i had to make the font a smaller size than for other people but whatever

I think this is the best way to do it. Save your invites and just send one!

Re: Invitation addressing help!!
I think you should send seperate invited honestly. especially if you want seperate gifts for each of them. If they all gave you a seperate gift would you said one family thank you card? and if you send only one invite, you may only get one gift. if none of that bothers you then just send one

Re: Invitation addressing help!!
technically, each person over the age of 18 should get their own invite. i would send one to each person regardless. i thik it would be tacky to send one addressed to the entire family. thats jmo

Re: Invitation addressing help!!
No way! Unless they are all coming w dates. Seperate invitation means seperate gift, so not only will it be anooying to receive 7 invites to one house but they mayh think ur fishing for more $$.
My bff/moh lives at home, but is 24yo and engaged herself. I'm extremely close w her fam. She has a 20yo bro and 17yo sis. I'm sending 1 invite adressed to the xyz family and 1 to ms. Jane doe and guest.
I say 1 invite, unless 1 is coming w a guest, then they get seperate.

If they are not invited with guests then i say send one but if they are invited with guests then send one each. Also if they ar enot invited with guests & you are using calligraphy it maybe hard to address to each name. You may have to write
