Invitation Advice

Hi girls. My invites are adorned with 4 small crystals. I picked them up tonight and I'm terrified of the crystals falling off when I mail them. I banged one against my knee a few times and one went flying off. They're clearly not terribly secure. I'm brainstorming ideas and so far I've come up with:

-inner envelope
-a 1/8in foam sheet placed against the front of the invite

I will obviously hand cancel them, but they will still need to be barcoded, thus only eliminating one machine. Apparently if mail is sent from a PO close enough to where it's going it isn't barcoded. Does anyone know what this distance is? Like it's one zip code, or its a whole county?

Poor FH, as he was listening to my rant he asked 'why don't we just take them to be mailed in the county they're going to?'

I'm so pissy, I'm ready to hand deliver the little suckers.

Invitation Advice - Long Island Weddings

one bride I recently saw said they told her they would be hand cancelled but they didn't do it they ran it through the machine anyway and a bunch of her invitations for ruined! the foam idea sounds like a good idea!
