Invitation Advice Needed

We`re getting ready to go out shopping for our invitations. We already know the wording we want, so that will save us some time, but I was wondering which places people preferred? While I`d rather not order on-line, I`d appreciate all ideas and advice. For shops, I`m probably looking to stay in eastern Suffolk and western Nassau.

Also, how long should I expect for the invitations to take to come in once they`ve been ordered? Is everyone paying a calligrapher? How difficult is it to print the addresses onto the envelopes with a home computer? Can response card envelopes be ordered with our address printed on it to cut down on the time it would take for someone to either do it by hand or run it through a computer?

Finally, how did everyone go about attaining all the addresses they needed from co-workers and such? Do you just go up to them and ask? Or is there a more 'proper' way of going about this?

Thanks!!

Well, I found my invitations in the Carlson Craft 'Blue' book and then ordered them through a woman I found on the net cause at the time she discounted them 40%.
They took about a week to arrive after I ordered them. They were actually shipped from Carlson Craft the day after the order was placed, but UPS Ground(the preferred shipping method)took 7 days.
The price given for the response cards includes your address printed on the envelope.
I am using my home computer to address the inner and outer envelopes. It's easy and only takes a few hours(I'm being extra careful)
I work for a small company, so we have printed employee address list, so it was very easy to get these addresses.

As I posted yestaurday, addressing with the computer is pretty easy. Our invitations only took 2 weeks to come in. The manufacturer made one mistake on the reception card and it was replaced in 24 hours. We ordered through Island-Wide Graphics in Farmingdale. About getting addresses; I asked in December when I was sending holiday cards, but I think you can go ahead and ask for people's addresses.
