invitation check!

FMIL gets the credit for this one: she found nice invites that come in packs of 50 that sell for $7.99 each on amazon, and purchased 3 packs. The packs come with the invites, envelopes, response cards and return envelopes. In lieu of the added expense of a reception card, We will be writing the name and address of the reception on the main invite, and Crest Hollow is mailing us direction cards to add in the invitation. FMIL is also getting the ink, and will be printing everything at her house, so all in all, our invites will cost less than $100

I, too, made my own invitations. I bought them on clearance at Michaels...they came with everything and they came out amazing!!!! I think the total price was less than $30.00...I'm going to spend more in postage than I did on the invites.

If you do your own, the company (mine was Brides) gives extra's for mistakes. I also found the customer service with them to be unbelievable. I wanted my font color to match the design of the invitations and they sent me the codes to match.

Also, the assembly was fun for FH and I to do together

Awesome! I'm so afraid to do this b/c I'm not sure how they will come out on my printer and the cost of ink is insane! LOL I wonder if you can take them to a printer.

You can, we bought invites for my SIL's shower and then had a printer print them up for us.
