We started looking for our invitations and I just assumed we would go with the color of our wedding as a color of the invitations...we found a few that of course are NOT the color we wanted but fell in love...does that matter? I mean should the inviations go with the theme???

Depends on what you and FH want. For me, it was really important that everything from my STD, invite, menus, programs, favors, and everything else all tied together. How it all tied together was in the colors. I'm really anal though!
I've seen it done both ways.

no, I really don't think so.
my wedding will be tons of bright, hot colors - hot pinks, oranges, electric blues, bright yellows.
my invitations are silver, black, and burgundy.
to me, it's not about a theme - the theme is just US - so whatever we love, that's what we go with.

I was wondering the same thing when I picked out my invitations. But the woman I ordered them from assured me that most likely, the bride is the only one who would notice the difference. I think that's true of a lot of the details that we agoninze over for months and months!!!!

i agree. its really important to me as well. but i guess if you go with a neutral color like white or ivory it's fine too. it doesnt so much matter as much as me wanting every aspect of paper products to tie together. so i would say no it doesnt matter - uness YOU want it to matter
