I just want to get an idea of how much invites cost. I've been doing my homework and have been quoted so many varying prices. For 100 invites with envelopes, inner envelopes, reception card, response cards with envelopes- I've been quoted $530, another place quoted me $400 and a company online said $275. Then someone on ebay had all that and extras for $90 bucks! Like all of us I don't want to get ripped off, but I do want decent invites. Can anyone tell me if these prices are about right? **Also what are your thoughts on response postcards? they save postage but are they tacky? Please Help! THANKS.

Re: Invitation costs
I think postcard responses are fine. Does it really save that much in cost?

Re: Invitation costs
It really depends on where you get them and the type of invitations you want. It also depends on whether the writing is raised or flat etc.
If its not in your budget to spend alot on invitations then don't. You can definitely find reasonably priced decent ones.
I got 175 with all the inserts for $350 at toinvite.com

Re: Invitation costs
If you want moderately priced invites, I highly recommend Costco.com. They have invites ranging from less than 100 for 100 to about $900 for 100. They carry many major brands. If you look at the books at a store, see if you can find the same online at costco.com, they are 30-40% off. Good luck!

Re: Invitation costs
I ordered from EZ Calligraphy (a LIW vendor) when they had their grand-opening sale...I got 175 invites (Carlson Craft) with inner lined envelopes, response cards, reception cards, and colored ink on everything except the envelope addresses, for about $400. The non-sale price would have been about $550.

You'll be saving about $0.25-$0.30 per invite in postage.
To be completely honest with you, I personally consider them tacky, but that's just me

Re: Invitation costs
Party city also doeas about 30% off on major lines of invites so you could do them in person at a local store.
as to postcards for rsvp - - it's not traditional but if expense is a major consideration, why not. also by having postcard vs rsvp card w envelope you might lighten the invite enough to go with just 42 cents - - if you have a simpler invite, not oversized or square. - - keep that in mind when shopping it adds surcharge to postage as well as if too thick.
I used a kit that I printed myself where invite was 5x7 card w vellum overlay, NO inner envelope but rsvp card/envelope and it went on 1 stamp. so that can save you something. - - you can put it towards those ever mounting tips!!!

Re: Invitation costs
I went looking at stationery stores first to get an idea of what I liked. Then I went online and saved almost $100 on the exact invite I fell in love with(75 invites, response cards, return address on outer and response envelopes, extra envelopes, email proof of invite). I paid $412 total - and no tax either!!!!

Re: Invitation costs
I spent under $400 for 150 invites, reception card, lined inner envelopes, return address on the outer envelopes, extra inner and outer envelopes, and the respond postcard. I actually like the respond postcard. It was FH's idea. One of his friends used it and claimed because it was a postcard it was quick and easy to mail (don't try to figure out the logic of why mailing a postcard is easier than mailing a response card.. he is a breed of his own! ) We did save money on stamps. They are 27 cents now, and I have to say that I actually like the stamps we got for them! They are various fruits and very colorful (they actually matched the color of our invites!).

Re: Invitation costs
I got the following for about $500- 150 invitations (with envelope liners, envelopes, RSVP card, address, calligraphy for outer envelopes) 150 Seals - heart shaped with our first names on it in silver- they were so pretty!
I used Just Announce It! in Oceanside- they were fast and so easy to work with and had invites in all price ranges.
Also very reasonably priced!
